Heathcare Benefits

Alere Wellbeing offers all eligible employees the following benefits:

Group Health Medical Insurance - Eligible Washington state employees receive medical insurance the 1st day of the pay period following 30 days of employment. Spouses and domestic partners are eligible for dependent coverage only if they meet certain qualifying reasons. Dependent children are eligible for dependent coverage.

Cigna Medical Insurance - Eligible out-of-state employees receive medical insurance the 1st day of the pay period following 30 days of employment. Spouses and domestic partners are eligible for dependent coverage only if they meet certain qualifying reasons. Dependent children are eligible for dependent coverage.

HMSA Medical Insurance - Eligible Hawaii employees receive medical insurance the 1st day of the month following their date of hire. Spouses and domestic partners are eligible for dependent coverage only if they meet certain qualifying reasons. Dependent children are eligible for dependent coverage.

Delta Dental Insurance - Eligible employees receive dental insurance the 1st day of the pay period following 30 days of employment.

Vision Service Plan Insurance - Eligible employees may elect voluntary vision insurance the 1st day of the pay period following 30 days of employment.

Special note for insurances above: Coverage for domestic partner and children over the age of 19 (for dental and vision insurance) have special tax consequences. Under the medical insurance plans, children are eligible for coverage up to the age of 26.

Group Health Prescription Drug Benefits - Eligible employees receive prescription benefits the 1st day of the pay period following 30 days of employment. Free & Clear employees pay a modest co-pay for generic prescription drugs and a higher co-pay for formulary prescription drugs. Employees have the option to participate in a mail order prescription drug program.

Flexible Corporate Plans Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) - Eligible employees may reimburse themselves for healthcare and/or dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis by establishing an FSA. Examples of eligible expenses under the Healthcare FSA are prescription drugs, co-pays, and vision expenses. Examples of eligible expenses under the Dependent Care FSA are elder care or daycare for children 13 and under. Included with the Healthcare FSA and/or Dependent Care FSA is a debit card loaded with the elected FSA

Meet Marie, Senior Manager of Weight and Nutrition Education Services at Alere Wellbeing. Marie has more than 26 years experience in treating obesity and weight related health behaviors and has been with Alere Wellbeing for 22 years. Marie manages the Accomplish Bariatric Nutrition Services program, develops content for Weight Talk®, and is a member of the Clinical Development and Support team.

Marie enjoys working at Alere Wellbeing due to the dedicated group of individuals with whom she works. In every department, the staff at Alere Wellbeing strives every day to do the best and most they can to move the company forward. The team has come so far since 2002 when we separated from Group Health; the growth has been just phenomenal. Marie has had the opportunity to manage many weight-loss services at Alere Wellbeing and develop weight content within the Quit For Life® Program as well. Alere Wellbeing has been a great fit for Marie, providing flexibility as she raised a family and providing challenges that  she has enjoyed meeting.
